Action Karate Telford

My son started at Action Karate Telford when he was 7 and worked his way all the way to through the jr program earning his jr black belt. That was quite the accomplishment for him, and he gained more confidence then he previously had. After that he asked me to join karate and work towards getting our first degree black belt together. Now I am taking classes and am a certified part time instructor and work events and birthday parties. Action is a big part of our lives and we are so happy to have made the friends we have and to call the karate school a second home.

If I could give 10 stars I would. When you walk in that first time, maybe a little scared and unsure you are treated with respect. You are never a price tag, you're always a person. I've watched my very difficult child with ADHD and Autism become confident, respectful, resilient over the last 6 months as a Ninja Shark. As my child's behaviors were escalating I reached out to Mr. Angelo and Ms. Cherri. I was met with respect, understanding, encouragement and support on all fronts. We formulated a plan and went from there. I was reassured that it takes a village and they are happy to be a part of our village. After 6 months of watching the Ninjas I decided to enroll in the adult classes. Best decision I've made in a while!!! It is a come as you are, accommodating, encouraging, supportive, safe and fun environment. It is truly a judgement free zone, where everyone in the class helps each other succeed. As a white belt I'm constantly being helped by higher belts. And it is always a positive experience. Mr. Angelo, Ms.Cherri and all the instructors are genuine and consistent. They are the same on the mat as they are talking to you 1 on 1. They are down to earth, realistic and very approachable. I've had my other children with me while watching Ninja class. Sometimes they can be disruptive during Ninja class and we are always met with grace and patience when this happens. Also they usually have a few fun events every month, all optional but always fun. It is truly unlike any environment I've ever been in before. My family and I love this wonderful group!!!!

My daughter started Karate almost 3 years ago. She has always been very shy and quiet. Karate has been excellent at helping to encourage her to be more outgoing and vocal by highlighting her strengths and giving her a positive outlook on where she can grow and how to do that in steps that are more comfortable for her. I am grateful for all of the support of all the instructors that give their time every day! AKT is a great place!

Karate has helped her gain confidence and shown her how to set goals and take realistic steps to achieve them. The instructors provide a great balance of fun and seriousness so the students enjoy learning.

My son and I joined Action Karate Telford in April of 2021. I have seen my son's confidence and perseverance grow through his time at Action Karate. He is excited to go to karate each week and has made several friendships with classmates. When I first joined Action Karate it was to share an experience and time with my son, now I am gaining so much more. I have experienced not only improved physical fitness but have formed friendships that we fondly refer to as our Action Karate family. The instructors are always willing to take the time to review material you may have questions on or spend extra time outside of class to help you. You can truly see that they care about how you are doing with the material and want to best for each one of the students. I truly recommend Action Karate Telford for anyone looking to join for their kids or as an adult!
